S/S18 Beauty Trends At Fosse Shopping Park #SpringStyles

If you are local to Leicester, or just visiting, and want to shop away from the bustle of the main City Centre, then I would highly recommend Fosse Shopping Park (or just Fosse Park to us local Leicester folk). They have over 30 stores covering everything from beauty to fashion and homeware and they have several eateries too that cater for all manner of different tastes. There is even a beauty and grooming salon above the Superdrug. Plus, one of the best features of Fosse? Free parking!

I’m really lucky that I live very close to Fosse Park. It’s so easy for me to pop there for whatever I need. That’s why I’m delighted to work with Fosse on highlighting some of their top stores, and the pieces in that store as part of their S/S18 campaign ‘#springstyles’. From fashion to homeware and beauty, I’ve picked out some of the latest pieces, all available right now at the shopping centre.

So, first up was discovering the latest beauty trends at Boots, so let’s take a look at some of the best high street and premium beauty brands’ offerings for this Summer…

Flawless Skin

There is no substitute for water and a great skincare regime when it comes to flawless skin BUT, you can certainly buy products that are going to boost the look and texture of your skin this season.

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation is supposed to give a totally flawless, smooth and even complexion that lasts up to 16 hours, thanks to a new generation formula.
This soft and smooth liquid foundation simply glides onto your skin to correct and conceal all blemishes. It’s revolutionary formula contains three colour correcting pigments so that it can adapt to your skin tone to give you the most natural looking radiance in the room.
Three colour correcting pigments for zero imperfections:
1. Yellow pigments – conceals dark circles for a rested look
2. Mauve pigments – corrects dullness for radiance
3. Green pigments – neutralises redness for an even out the complexion

I’m a super paler, so I got the colour light vanilla.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Powder

This is a translucent mattifying powder from Soap & Glory. With vision-boggling SUPERBLUR™ technology and CAMOUFLAWGE 3DTM– the new powder is supposed to immediately perfect your face. According to the blurb, skin looks impossibly smooth, feels velvety soft, and delivers real-time RETOUCHING. It’s weightless, and totally translucent. I’m very excited to try this out, as my skin can often be uneven and blotchy and boy do my pores like to play havoc with me!

Obsession Liquid Illuminator in Fierce

I really adore this colour, and I think it’s going to take the place of my fave Benefit Highbeam. You can create ultra intense highlight with Obsession Liquid Illuminators. Packed with concentrated iridescent and holographic pigments, they create incredible, dimensional glow. You can use them alone as a liquid highlighter on the high points of the face, or add a drop to your foundation or body lotion for an effortlessly dewy finish. I chose the colour Fierce, which is a lovely pink colour with slight lilac aspects to it. I think it’s going to complement my rather pale face well this Summer and will look so pretty shimmering under the Sun.

Soft & Smokey Eyes

I am SO over trying to do a deep and sultry smokey eye. I think they look absolutely gorgeous, but I just can’t master it, and end up looking like I’ve been punched in the eye! So, I’m going to attempt the softer smokey eye this season with this fabulous palette from Obsession. You can choose six shades, ranging from eyeshadows to contour and highlighter colours and you will get a free palette. So, I opted for quite soft and nude colours that I can use throughout the day. You could always use these at night time too by adding a deeper colour, or creating a thicker cats eye. I just think they are such elegant and chic colours.

Ditch The Lashes

Ok, hands up, who loves the look of lashes but can’t be bothered to keep applying them day in, day out? (Both my hands are up!). That’s why you need to get yourself a mascara that will provide some awesome length and volume so you can flutter those natural lashes throughout the day, and night. The L’Oreal Paris Paradise mascara has been given major rave reviews so I thought I would pick some up and see what all the fuss is about. I may well do a before and after over on my social, so stay tuned for that.

According to the blurb, the Ultra-Soft brush coats lashes with a silky smooth formula; enriched with lash-loving castor oil. Lashes feel feather-soft; without any flaking.

– 90% saw intense & volumised lashes*
– +98% lengthening effect**
– 91% agree it doesn’t flake*

Sounds FAB, right?!

Shimmering Blush

I absolutely adore the feeling you get when you buy premium brands. From my Giorgio Armani foundation I use for special occasions to my Charlotte Tilbury collection, there’s something really satisfying about purchasing something so decadent. However, it’s NOT satisfying when you buy premium and get something that doesn’t suit you, or work for you. That’s why I love that Benefit do mini products at Boots. You can try before you commit to buy. At the moment they have 3 minis for £25, and I opted for two blushers, and an eye liner.

The blushes are;

Gold Rush: This golden-nectar blush gives any look a natural-looking warm glow! Embossed with a stunning “golden nugget” overspray, the specialised formula gradually lifts away to reveal a rich, nectar shade infused with delicate, golden flecks throughout the powder. The soft, blendable formula also features a signature scent with notes of citrus, vanilla & sandalwood.

Dandelion Twinkle: Soft & superfine…dandelion twinkle let’s you shine! This delicate strobing powder is formulated with a special baked technology for a sheer, whisper-light texture that catches the light. Wear this highlighter powder alone or on top of your favourite blush or powder. Dandelion is one of my favourite ever blushes, and perfect for pale people, so I have high hopes for the Twinkle version.

The New Nude Lip

The nude lip doesn’t seem to be going out of fashion anytime soon. This season, however, there is a slight twist on the classis, and it’s ever so slightly more flattering. Rather than choosing a nude that is the exact same colour as your lip, opt for one that is slightly darker, or pinker than your natural lip. It gives a pop of colour that looks so flattering, particularly when paired with flawless highlighted skin. Wakes you up and gives you a dewy, fresh and young look. I love NYX for many things, but particularly their lip products. I know a lot of people find their mattes quite drying, but I’m always really impressed with the colours, and they never cake or crack on me. I chose a sophisticated nude-brown, a lovely nude-pink, and a pink with small gold iridescent glitter in that I think would look gorgeous for those Summer nights!

I also picked up the NYX micro brow pencil. I’m not the most patient of girls when I do my brows, and this makes it really easy to fill in any patches or lengthen the ends. As the name suggests, it’s a very small and thin ‘pencil’ (I’d actually describe it as more of a crayon) that you can use to create a decent shape. I used to buy the thin Mac Eyebrow Liners but now I buy nothing but the NYX micro brow pencil. Highly recommended, and they have a tonne of shades, from blonde to auburn to black! Plus, they are only £8 and they last for such a long time.
