I’m a bit of a perfume junkie; a lover of the scent through and through. I am so addicted, I even have ‘day’ perfumes and ‘night’ perfumes. I’m very much into quite strong scents, and at night I do really love a musky, almost masculine scent. I thought I’d just share with you some of the perfumes I have/had in my collection.

1. Escada Especially Delicate Notes

Especially Escada Delicate Notes is an airy, fresh and light version of the original Especially Escada, which is based on the note of rose. The aroma is elegant and refined for a carefree girls, spring time and good mood.

Top notes: wild rose, grapefruit and pear. Heart: rose, ylang-ylang and ambrette seed. Base: musk and woody notes.

2. Versace Crystal Noir

‘According to Donatella Versace, Crystal Noir is a rare essence, sensual and delicate. The central note of the composition is mysterious gardenia, fresh, sensual, luminous and creamy, reproduced by ‘headspace’ technology,. Amber and musk in the base make the scent dark and mysterious, very sensual and distinct. The fragrance was created by Antoine Lie in 2004.’

3. Thierry Mugler Alien

‘Alien spreads mysterious aura, and it claims the right to that already by its name. Thirteen years after the huge success of Angel, Thierry Mugler has decided to challenge the perfumery world once again. Alien is a magic elixir captured in a bottle in the shape of a strange object, reminiscent of philosophers’ stone or some warlock object of a deep and mysterious purple color. Its woman has to be a bit of a witch. The creators of Alien based the composition on three main lines: warm white amber in the base, woodsy notes in the heart, and sunny Indian jasmine in the top.’

4. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

‘Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Coco Mademoiselle was launched in 2001. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge. Top notes are orange, mandarin orange, orange blossom and bergamot; middle notes are mimose, jasmine, turkish rose and ylang-ylang; base notes are tonka bean, patchouli, opoponax, vanilla, vetiver and white musk.’

5. Giorgio Armani Code for Women

‘Armani Code was introduced to women in the spring of 2006. It is based on harmony between orange blossom, fresh spicy notes of ginger and warm sandalwood. A luminous opening captures the essence of two different oranges – bitter orange from Africa and sweet Italian orange. In the heart of the composition Tunisian orange blossom absolute makes a magical floral fantasy in alliance with jasmine Sambac. Its sensual trail brings a sweet unity of orange blossom, vanilla and a drop of honey.’

6. Thierry Mugler Womanity

‘Composition of Womanity was created by Mane, as a powerful contrast of elements. By using the new molecular process of extraction, Mane manages to extract natural aromas of fig for sweet accords. Savory notes originate from caviar and the structure in ensured by fig wood aromas. Pierre Aulas, olfactive director of Clarins Fragrance Group, says that it is a true challenge to work on Mugler’s idea of combining savoury and sweet notes.’

7. Hugo Boss Nuit

‘BOSS Nuit Pour Femme, the new women’s fragrance from Hugo Boss, is inspired by the eternal elegance of little black dresses and confidence that it gives to women. The perfume is created to complete the sophisticated smartness of a woman before her evening out. The fragrance begins with modern, elegant and fresh sparkling notes of aldehydes and peach. The heart radiates feminine white flowers, jasmine and sensual violet. The base consists of crystalline moss and creamy sandalwood.’

8. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

‘D&G Light blue is a casual and breezy, sparkling fruity-floral scent that evokes the spirit of the Sicilian summer. Mouth-watering and fresh notes of lime and cedar are bringing an image of the South woods on the seashore.’

9. Dior J’Adore

‘J’adore is a modern, glamorous fragrance, which has become incredibly popular, and for that reason developed in number of variants of different concentrations. J’adore is a luminous fragrance. Its opulent, golden scent shimmers on skin like sunbeams. The classic and ambitions of this fragrance reflects in the bottle shaped like Greek amphora. J’adore presents a new conception of Dior feminity, a scent so new and so in line with Dior style at the same time – sweet but balmy, slightly sharp floral with fresh mandarin in the top; jasmine, plum, orchid and rose in the heart; and amaranth, musk and blackberry in the trail.’

10. Ghost Deep Night

‘The perfume of love which reveals mysteries and induces passions in the dark night was presented in 2001. The powerful notes of Indian rose and Belle de Nuit blossoms which blooms and spreads odors in the darkness of the night, and closes in the early dawn (night lady). The heart consists of orange, white tree and apricot notes, while the base, sensual and soft, brings waves of vanilla, amber and musk notes.’

11. Diesel Loverdose

‘Diesel Loverdose allegedly possesses molecules that stimulate hypothalamus, the part of the brain responsible for attraction and lust. The very composition is floral – spicy, opening with star anise and mandarin. Sambac jasmine, licorice and gardenia petals form the core of the composition, placed on an oriental base of amber, vanilla and woody notes.’

12. Giorgio Armani Diamonds

‘This perfume was created by Thierry Wasser of Firmenich and the fragrance is classified as gourmand-floral. The top notes are litchi and raspberry, the middle notes – freesia and lily of the valley, and the base are vetiver, cedar wood, patchouli and vanilla.’

13. Marc Jacobs Daisy

‘Daisy is a sparkly floral-woody fragrance, fresh and feminine at the same time. It is devoted to a sophisticated, seductive, and dazzling woman, which at the same time strives to simplicity. It is captured in a lovely bottle decorated with daisy flowers on the top.’

Have you ever tried any of these perfumes? What are your favourite scents?

Love, SjP x

  1. Alien is my favourite perfume, I just can’t get enough of the scent. I really like the peculiar design of the bottle and the fact that the smell lasts for a really long time! Good perfume choices.
