How Not To Plan A Wedding

If you are in the process of planning for a wedding, you are almost certainly finding yourself a little stressed about it from time to time. Wedding planning is always stressful, whether it’s your own big day or your best friend’s. But as long as you are aware beforehand of what you need to do, you should find that it is much easier than you had thought. It can also help to have a clear idea of what you need to avoid, and what you should make sure you are not doing, so that you know you are avoiding all the common pitfalls. By doing that, you are much more likely to succeed and to be happy with the end result, so it is definitely important to pay attention to that. Let’s take a look and see how you should not plan a wedding.

Forget The Entertainment

Something we can all agree on is that the entertainment in the evening really does help to make a wedding. If you find that you forget this entirely, you can be sure that you are in for a real disaster of a day. Of course, it’s not all that hard to provide some entertainment, and you should find that you can get it arranged fairly quickly and easily. There are a few common ways to do this. You might decide that you want to get a wedding disk jockey who can play music all night and ensure that people get up and dancing. Or you might want to think about instead having a live band, who can bring a little more fun to the day but are also likely to be more expensive than just getting a DJ. However you do it, you need to make sure your wedding day has some kind of entertainment.

Don’t Feed Your Guests

Let’s face it – a wedding day without food would be a complete disaster, and you would be incredibly unlikely to forget this part of the day! However you do need to make sure that you avoid any other potential food disasters, such as not having enough food or not providing for the vegetarians, vegans, gluten free individuals and so on. Obviously, the way to avoid this faux pas is to ask people to say on their RSVPs whether they have any dietary restrictions. Beyond that, make sure that you taste a number of different menu options before deciding which to have on your big day. It’s hardly as though doing so is a chore, after all!

Invite Everyone In The World

We’ve all been to weddings where they were far too packed, and it is hard to know what’s happening. If you have experienced this, you will appreciate the importance of understatement, particularly as it pertains to the guest list. Try to ensure that you have not completely over-stuffed the guest list, as if you do it could result in a much less enjoyable day. Besides, you’ll probably appreciate not having hundreds and hundreds of people watching you walk down the aisle.
