Hotels In Leicester- A Premier Inn Review

best hotels in leicester

If you’re looking for a top quality hotel right in the centre of bustling Leicester City, then look no further than the Premier Inn. Just a stone’s throw away from Leicester Train Station, a hop skip and a jump away from the beautiful Curve Theatre and a stagger away from many fantastic bars, clubs and restaurants, it’s ideal situation makes it a no brainer for out of towners.

As soon as you walk through the doors of the Premier Inn Leicester you’re greeted with a smile and a warmth that’s sometimes difficult to find in other hotel chains. I was met at reception by a fantastic Duty Manager and nothing was too much trouble for her. She explained everything from check in and out times to keys, lifts and, the best part, breakfast!

The rooms themselves really are generous. There have been so many times I’ve booked into tiny rooms in hotels that are either ridiculously hot or horrendously cold, and there was nothing like this in my room at the Premier Inn Leicester. The entire room was a great size, had lots of space, included room to hang clothes (my favourite part), a table and chair, lots of shelving and cupboard space and the bed was massive!! They’re so bloody comfy, that people have obviously been enquiring about where to buy them from as you can now purchase a Premier Inn bed from their website. Here’s a bit more about the bed according to their website;

•             The luxury, king-size Premier Inn bed has over 1,000 pocket springs, providing individual, contoured support throughout the mattress – wherever and whenever it’s needed – for that “floating on a cloud” feeling.

•             The mattress is enhanced with a super-comfortable, thick wool mattress topper, creating a luxurious, extra-cosy layer. It also helps to regulate body temperature for a truly serene sleep.

•             The hypoallergenic mattress fabric means that allergy sufferers can enjoy a great night’s rest too.

•             The king-size mattress is 150x200cm. Other sizes, with or without a taupe divan base, plus the option of drawers, are also available. The height of the mattress is 27cm and the height of the mattress and divan together from the floor is approximately 63cm.

The Premier Inn also guarantee a good night’s sleep, something they’re so sure you’ll have, they’re willing to offer you your money back should you have a less than pleasant night.

The rooms all have televisions, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities and extra bedding and towels. Pretty much everything you could ask for in a hotel, they have it. I would call the Premier Inn a high end budget hotel. It’s definitely affordable, but with the extra touches, the roomy rooms and the excellent customer service, you feel just that extra bit pampered.

Their breakfasts are pretty great too if you’re feeling peckish in the mornings. You have a huge choice of food you can pick up yourself, such as cereals, toast and crumpets, and if you fancy something a little more substantial, there’s hot food too! What’s great about the hot food is that you order it separately, so no food having been left out for hours getting a little congealed. Yuck. The full English was piping hot, delicious and pretty perfect!

So if you’re looking for a hotel in Leicester, I would seriously recommend the Premier Inn. Affordable, comfy, welcoming and bang in the centre of town with plenty close by. What more could you possibly need? And it isn’t just Leicester of course that has Premier Inns. They have hundreds throughout the country, identifiable by their luxurious purple exteriors and their fun half moon logo.
