Delicious Afternoon Tea At The Exchange Leicester

The Exchange Bar is a beautiful little venue, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Leicester City Centre, and situated in the Cultural Quarter. They are literally bang opposite the Curve, and the Athena, and are one of my go to places for a fancy cocktail, an intimate place for networking meetings, and of course, a delicious Afternoon Tea with friends.
Afternoon Tea at The Exchange Leicester
I went along last weekend with two of my best and oldest school friends to catch up. The venue itself is so bright and welcoming. It’s decor is very eclectic and chic, and it just makes you feel relaxed as soon as you sit down- perfect for when girls need to catch up on a couple of months worth of gossip! We were running slightly late but rang The Exchange in advance who were so lovely about it. When we arrived, our table was set up and it really was lovely. A mixture of pretty china was decorated with some tasty looking ciabatta sliced sandwiches and mini cakes. Our tea followed shortly, and the scones were warmed up before being served with jam, cream and fresh strawberries.
The ciabatta sandwiches are truly delicious- no sad egg and cress or cucumber here my friends. The fillings include;
  • Chilli, Avocado, Sun-dried Tomato & Rocket
  • Prosciutto Ham, Mozzerella, Sun-dried Tomato & Basil
  • Mozzerella, Red Pesto & Baby Spinach

The Afternoon Tea would be perfect for friends or family getting together, whether it be for an occasion or just to meet. I think if I were to ever get married, I would want a civilised Afternoon Tea, followed by a raucous night out obviously, and I can imagine that the Exchange would be the perfect venue! There is limited space, however, and you do need to book, so bear that in mind. They also do a Bottomless Afternoon Tea option on Sundays where you can get bottomless prosecco!! That’s right, all you prosecco princesses would absolutely love it, and it’s such a bargain.

*Thank you to The Exchange who kindly provided two of their gold teas in return for this review. This in no way however compromises my opinion, and I will always be open and honest.
